Hospitals and laboratories have been using it for more than 80 years. UV-C light has been used to reliably destroy bacteria, fungi and even viruses.

Air is drawn in, exposed to highly dosed UV-C light radiation, which is fatal to viruses, and then fed back again into the lift.
The UV-C radiation is produced in a closed system; therefore, it can be used even when people are in the lift.
